1084s popped while prepping for WOC 2011

Post by jayk2k » Thu Dec 01, 2011 5:22 pm

Well this just figures. I was prepping for some Amiga time at this year's WoC and while writing some disks out, the 1084s made a distinct pop and then was gone. The red power light no longer works and when cycling power, I can still hear a faint electronic pitch as it powers down. I seem to recall the monitors being notorious for bad flybacks and power switches. Does any one know how to repair these, or know of somewhere I can take it to be fixed before or after WoC? Is it even worth it?
